This is from the Coldfire Trilogy by C.S. Friedman. The two main characters are trying to leave the city stealthily, but they are shocked to see the sirens in the water, blue glowing things that draw sailors overboard to eat them, or to throw off their sensors so they crash into the many jutting rocks. This took about 2 hours, I hope you enjoy!!
